a demonstration

It is my first time going through a demonstration.

General Strike took place at JUNE 28, in Swanston St, which is the main street of Melbourne city. The strike troop mainly made of workers gathered together for repealing the terror laws.

There were so many people that make me feel like coming back to China.=.= What surprised me was that the policemen were helping to keep order, smiling and looked so relaxed. Besides, you can even find the timetable of the upcoming strikes in the leaflet. Rather than full of anger, most demonstraters kept calm, some ones even went away for snack and coffee. People expressed their opinions one by one, with the interlude of singing and the response from the crowd. I have to say it is a well-organized strike.

People have the right to express their views freely; however, it should not be an unreasonable and furious outlet. What we need is negotiation and communication in stead of violence. That is why I appreciate this demonstration.
