Monster

I watched the movie Monster today.

Felt very sad after that.

You might have watched it too. It was famous, won the prize of Oscar.

The story is based on the life of Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who became a serial killer. In some terms, it can be viewed as a documentary. Real life, this is what makes me feel sad.

The monster, the killer, walked like a goose: heavily, awkwardly, a little bit wagging. You can read her poor education and stubborn from the way she walked.

At the end of the movie, she was sent executed, held by two policemen, still, walking like a goose. She shook her head to get rid of the hairs falling forehead, this action let her look like a man.

I think subconsciously she welcomed the idea of being seen as a man. Strong, powerful, no more harms could be added onto her. That was why she accepted the lesbian’s love, or whatever she thought was love.

But life is not ‘faith removes a mountain’, or ‘all I need is love’. She looked for a decent job, she failed, she went back to the old track. Once she made profit from killing, it became a business she generated.

The lover pretended she was blind and innocent.

Innocent. No one is innocent. To make a living, more or less people become gray and dusty. So-called innocent, is just because someone else are smearing their hands for them. I double look down upon these innocent sheep.

She confessed her guilty over the phone to her lover, knowing the police were overhearing. She said, it was all me.

The lover gave evidence against her in the court.

I felt sorry for her, though there was no excuse for becoming a killer. From their own choices, they are living the way they are.

I just felt sad, life is not a box of chocolate. And every man is an island.
